After a crash like that , you compare the helmet to your head , and thank the manufacturer . I had a crash that would have probably ended me , judging by the dent my lid took for me , felt like dodging a bullet .

When I find walk-in shoes I like, I buy 2 pairs, so they can have an extra day to dry out. Essential in Scotland. And don't get Goretex lined shoes or boots, water will always get in / through, and then they take twice as long to dry out as leather. Great video. Well done keeping the camera dry, great work considering the conditions.

I think I am a man that is very square in my thinking as I fail to see why a bicycle only should be good for downhills. I mean it basically is a motorcycle/dirt bike but only good for downhills. I would love to see downhill races be more like enduro style bikes where you actually need to get up the hills as well.

Are you shopping around on Pink Bike's website for a little comparison between DH rigs? There was quite a few DH bikes on there last I checked. It can be hard buying used DH bike unless you know who rode it and how hard the bike was ridden, maintained or neglected. I bought a used 18 YT Tues off my friend and knew it's history which made it easier as I know how well he maintained that bike. Good Luck!

it'll need to be used for that budget (there are tonnes of great second hand bikes), and unless you're specifically riding dh tracks like fort bill then get an enduro.

Have a look a Calibre bikes, they do some half decent enduro bikes for around that price. I would definitely suggest an enduro bike though, unless you're planning on only riding bike parks, you'll need a bike you can pedal. Enduro bikes are more than capable these days of hitting a dh track, and they're great for bike parks, plus you can actually pedal them uphill comfortably to ride local trails and trail centres.
