Because it reminds you of your early childhood, when everything around you felt "blurry" and you had a natural curiosity of the world around you. You were probably too young to speak, and when you saw anything you didn't understand, you would be too afraid to talk about it, or just wouldn't know what to say. Before the 2010s, all media was either clear pictures or blurry videos, and bright retro colors stood out and were everywhere and contrasted with faded colors and B&W print. There was also a big contrast between the "grown up" and the "kids" world. If you were born many years before or after the special aired, it can still have the exact same effect. I'm a 2000s kid, and i feel the same way as you do, because I grew up with Noggin and other "retro" stuff that's considered dated nowadays.

I’m afraid some young people think all television form the 80s and 90s were fuzzy due to so much of the shared material (even maddeningly on news programs..with access to archives) are of a subpar video quality, mostly because they are sourced from VHS or at least have been poorly converted to digital.

I can easily see Hank and Peggy ending up with Cathy as a new neighbor in Dale’s house at 522 Rainey Street, except I don’t possibly see Irving wanting to live in Arlen, Texas. Therefore, Cathy Andrews has spent the previous year and a half in married housing at Camp Swampy as Mrs. Orville Snorkel. Meaning, that now she’s married to Sarge from the Beetle Bailey comics? By moving to Arlen within a year and a half of marriage, which includes Sarge’s dog Otto, and the upcoming arrival of Orville Jr. (still in her womb when they move in). Naturally, Orville got an honorable discharge, but the majority of the discharge pay becomes the down payment on the house at 522 Rainey Street, and they have to get a mortgage to payoff the balance to Sizemore Realty while Orville’s miraculously approved for a loan on the G.I. Bill to open up his very own Discount Auto Parts store in Arlen.
