Catia V5 | Catia V6: Class A - Creating a Deck Lid Step 2

Here I am using Catia's another method with the tools in Freestyle and Digitized Shape Editor to get a a quick slab across the center line of the vehicle.
I create a curve at the center line that matches the scan data then I extrude a surface out in both directions. Then using the control points I manipulate the surface to achieve my initial top slab.

why didn't you use Power fit in Quick Surface Reconstructions first then use control points for enhancements?

It all depends on the stylist and what they are looking for. I have done things that ended up deviating 15mm. Generally speaking though, depending on the scan quality and size of the part, .5mm to 1.5mm
