For anyone whose flower does not flow water, on the black box/pump you'll see a plus and minus sign. There is a slider on this box. Slide the piece over to the side with the plus side. This increases the power of the pump.

I hooked mine up & my two kittens (brother & sister, 5 months old) immediately sipped water out of it. I thought, wow.. that was easy. Then they started spinning the daisy on top! Before I could remove it, one of the kittens jerked the flower out & ran off with it. I retrieved the flower and left it out. They still weren't done playing though. They slid their paws under the filter cover and flipped it off like a pancake. I kept putting it back together, but during the night, I woke up to a "kersplash" sound. They tipped the whole thing over. I'm just going to put it away until they're older. I bought it to replace one of those upside-down water jug thingies because (you guessed it) they kept knocking that over too. Maybe my kittens are just ornery right now? I dunno... Hopefully in a few months, they'll use it like they're supposed to. For now, they're drinking from a boring water bowl... LOL~ 🐱🐱

My cat managed to yank out the center section(where the flower sits)after a week. It stinks because she was drinking more. I’m going to try a stainless steel or ceramic fountain next time.

Hahahaha funny story. Just kittens being kittens. As long as their drinking enough water they're fine with a regular bowl. If your cats by any chance aren't drinking a lot of water I suggest wet food. Particularly Tiki Cat Moose packets. Lots of hydration & no mess.

Thank you! Thank you! Since Items don't come with owners' manuals anymore, this was super helpful and easy to follow. It wasn't obvious to me how some of the components disassembled for cleaning and I didn't want to force a plastic part and break it, so now I know exactly what to do!

Thank you, this is a life saver. I took my cat water apart, cleaned it and reassembled. It didn’t work, of course at this point my cat is saying, “what the heck I am counting on you”. After following this video all is well, thank you again from both of us.

I've used this product for a year without opening the motor and cleaning it. The water flow had become so slow. This made me search KZbin on how to clean the motor. Opening up the motor and cleaning it up helped increase the flow by a huge margin! There was soo much mold and hair and some other glack stuff in it. It was soo disgusting. I'll make sure I clean up the motor everytime I clean the fountain. Thank you!

before i bought this, my cat rarely drank water. i almost never saw him drink from his bowl. as soon as i put this out he started drinking, and he pretty much never stopped. he will sit there for 5 minutes and lick away. i also noticed he has more energy now. i 100 percent recommend ditching that water bowl😌

Couldn’t quite figure out why the water pressure wasn’t pumping fully to the flower. I didn’t know you could disassemble the motor! Had a bit of hair clogged in there! Now my babies are enjoying their ice cold water. Cleaning took less than 5 minutes! Thank you.

Yes thank you! This makes set up much easier! Our kitten took to the fountain right away. She's always in the leaky bathtub and skin drinking the water. Now she gets clean filtered water from now on and it's very cute looking. So happy ❤

The back of the pump where the cable/cord connects to the motor has a panel that you can also remove and clean (highly recommended). I used a thin blade to remove it, but you may be able to lift it from the recessed area surrounding the cord.

I put 1.5 cups of very hot water mixed with white distilled vinegar and let it run through the fountain (after I remove the filter) for 5 minutes. It cleans & disinfects it. Then I rinse each part of the fountain with hot water, reassemble the fountain, put the filter back inside, fill it with bottled purified drinking water and turn the fountain back on. My cat doesn’t drink tap water because we don’t drink tap water. If it’s not trustworthy for us, it’s unacceptable for my fur-baby too.

I purchased this a week ago for my cats. I top up the water but I pour the water cold from a glass pitcher, the lip of the filter between the rim and the fountain head when I see the water's getting low. I'll maintenance the fountain every other week.

I do seem to have a devil of a time for some reason lining up the pump with the tube but it took a few goes plus I used a skewer down the middle to try to get it in place so the water would actually pump up properly. I also put some colloidal silver in the water to help keep it fresh for a few days. My cat Lucy liked it right away and we shall see how the others take to it. Plus my shih tzu Charlie.

I don't think I saw it in the user manual, on my pump there is a lever to adjust the speed of the pump. I thought the pump was failing, I must have turned the lever down while cleaning it.

I have only just set this up after buying it 2 years ago, when I turn on the switch the water isn't flowing like it is in the video even before putting the flower part in. Is there any way I can fix this?

I use a skinny brush to clean all the bacteria/slime out of the motor and the fountain tubes, every 4 or 5 days. It builds up so fast with 2 cats. Thanks for the video. How long should a new filter be rinsed? TIA

We changed our pump, but water won't come up through the flower any more. We've changed filters as well

I'm a bit confused on the one that I have it has a clear line and it says u shouldn't fill it higher than that bit in this u fill it to the top

The one without the water level window is an older version. You can, however, fill both to the top if you like.

Has anyone had the situation that the water is not filtered properly. New filter, activated as shown, fresh water, and just overnight the water inside was slick with organic matter (saliva). The water seems to come up over the middle green attachment as shown here, then ontop of the filter, but then just runs down between the filter and the outside of the middle green piece. I push the green piece in tightly, but still doesn't help...

The hole in the back of the pump where the wire goes in is basically impossible to clean. A plastic water fountain is such a hotbed for mould

This will prevent carbon dust from leaking out later on and allows air to escape so the filter won't float.

Mt pump cover has a lever to slide to + or - I'm not sure which to slide it to after cleaning it! And what does + and - mean??? It says nothing about that in the instructions! And no one is available to answer calls today.

There is a valve on the pump that controls the water volume. On the side of the pump look for - and + symbols and in between them a barely visible small lever.

@@ChaseTheCheck Try this! This helped me solve the issue. There should be a plus and minus sign on the pump, and a little lever/slider. Try sliding the piece over to the side with the plus side. This will increase the power of the pump and water flow

It’s not really a twist, it is a squeeze and a wiggle. I fIrmly pushed in on the two ends of the rectangular box, then mine came right off.

Hi! Your filter needs replacing every month. Just remove the old one first. Rinse a new filter under the tap and place it in the spot where the old one was.

Ok so I turned the filter upside down and washed it with soap. Not sure that’s a good idea, I don’t want soap to get trapped in there. I really rinsed it out but I’m thinking I’ll buy a new filter rather then give it to my cat. Eek

Don't wash the filters with soap. If there is dirt stuck in the mesh, thoroughly rinse the filter or simply replace it.

The cat won't be able to drink from it. I recommend the new LED Flower Fountain. I just upgraded to that one from the green one, and the new one has these little wells where the water can sit.

@@Obesemudkip that's what I have. When we leave the cats alone, we always fill the sinks in the bathroom, put out a bowl of water in the kitchen and leave the toilet lid up so they have water in case of power failure.
