Okay, please think about how cool a creepy sexy angler fish mermaid would be, the potential with a led in her lamp, the faceup with beautiful ethereal features, creepy dark eyes, and those scary teeth!!!!! Also, I am in LOVE with this face up. Her eyes are just breathtaking. And the fins 😭 the movement in them is just gorgeous. This may be my favorite.

Amongst all the mermaid dolls I have seen, she is my favorite now. She really has that edge and, practically stands out in all possible ways. Her subdued color scheme itself tells a story and, you just can't stop looking at her wanting to know what more can it tell you. I absolutely loved your sculpture of the albino mermaid. The title ‘Into the Deep’ is very fitting. As I understand it, ‘deep’ refers to the depths of the ocean where sunlight doesn’t reach, which is why many creatures in those regions are albino. Your artwork beautifully captures this concept. Thank you for sharing such a stunning piece! Greetings from Brazil!

I just found your channel today and I really love it. It gives me that eerie vibe that I look for in doll creations. I love how your dolls are more sculptural and less focused on posing and motion. I absolutely adore the concept of a deep sea mermaid that rarely sees the sun. But I do personally think the black hair would have been a better choice, without the need for black detailing or added color. The black gave it contrast and pop that the white hair seems to lack for me. I also think that keeping the hands and arms clear would have been an amazing concept as well. It would give it an almost ghostly vibe, and with the right lighting could have even glown like bioluminescent fish do in the deep ocean. Keep up the amazing work.
@CatmeleonStudio
@CatmeleonStudio 3 жыл бұрын
Thank you. I am thinking of my fantasy creatures like they were animals living somewhere in their habitats. The concept needs to work as a whole. Like with a horse: the tale's color needs to match the mane's color. If something is really off - I wont be happy with the outcome. But if you enjoyed the contrast of pale skin and dark hair better - I recommend my Dark Valentine's video ^_^

I like the Lionfish mermaid more but this one is still outstanding! And it is definitely creepy. The scales add an unnerving sickly feeling to it. This turned out really gorgeous!! Has a wonderful sense of motion, and I do think the choice to go with white/rose hair was a good call. It makes the black around her eyes, gills, and fingers pop more and makes it easier to catch all the details. Feel free to disregard this of course, but when you mentioned wanting to try a creepy black haired siren in the future it got me thinking about how different materials behaved through the process for you. One possible path could be an oil slick mermaid if you wanted to have the very long, hanging hair and build a sense of weight/slickness/unnatural movement? There are a LOT of directions you can go and your concepts are stellar, this just crossed my mind so figured I'd mention in case you find it interesting. Thanks for sharing your work, it's seriously phenomenal and this is one of my favorite doll repaints!

You should do something with a my size Barbie, it would give you a bigger base platform to work with. I also love that use Royo's art as inspiration in your pieces. They are absolutely gorgeous.

Spectra used to be my favorite monster high doll because of the transparent arms and legs, I wonder where my old doll went. I doubt I’ll ever find her again, but this video reminded me of some pleasant memories.

I love ur work! Absolutely amassing But the most part I admire is ur approach to work: even if it’s not goes well u could redo from the first step. Also u take ur sisters advises. Not that every bodies advises are good but it means u can step back and look from different angle on ur work🌱

Next year you should do another deep sea mermaid, but with a darker colour-scheme. :) Maybe with gulper eels, lampreys (not deep sea, but still creepy) and angler fish as possible inspiration points. :) Lots of dark blue/black with glow-in-the-dark dots along her sides. :)

I love the ‘muahahaha’ moment lol it’s honestly how I feel whenever I’m working on one of my dolls while at work lol they always get to see the beheading part, but I haven’t done body mods while there… no power tools whilst talking on a phone… lol

I got an idea for ya, cause this was an absolute masterpiece. An even deeper abyss level mermaid, maybe even Lovecraft inspired? And has bioluminescent glowing lights like many deep abyss level sea creatures, and she looks creepier due to being from a deeper sea level

I’m 100% obsessed with your art! I love how you range from whimsical, delicate, light, sweet, lovely to the beautifully dark, sexy, and gory styles…! You’re a TRUE MASTER at this craft! My favorite part about it all is that they all have a complex story behind them that’s what told simply through a glance. Ideas: La Llerona, Bloody Marry, Disney gone wrong (trending in makeup), phobias personified (trending), more animal splices, a whole demented or magical family!
