The only practical difference between any meeting application and a webinar is the ability to mute all attendees. That's it! Everything else is just decoration for the actual purpose of the application (from registration, groups, chats, and handouts). A webinar is a one-way presentation. A meeting is a collaboration.

A question I was asking myself :) Thank you for those insgihts and real context considerations. Engagement is the trick to take the decision for me. Plus the tricks you share to use Zoom Meeting. I will Test to hack first and see what I can come out with.

Thanks for the inside; fascinating. Important as an attendee of webinars is a good video and voice quality for me and that I can watch webinars anytime, so on-demand solution. Is this also available under zoom webinars?

I also think the number of attendees/participants is a factor. More than 50 may want to go the webinar route.

I’m hosting an AA meeting for people trying to save their own lives and change, we normally have about 30-80 people each night, lately we have been bombed , a lot. So I’m trying to create a safe space for people to come and interact.. People share and all of that. Does webinar allow people to share ?

Awesome video!!! We have about 30 students per class and we don't want the students to see each other as it is distracting for them. Will you recommend the Zoom Webinar add-on? We also want to students to interact with the teach just not with each other. many thanks

thanks for the video! Can you suggest the best way to charge for a workshop being hosted as a meeting? I guess I could create my own landing page have them sign up and then email them the reg link myself? I'm a bit turned around here.. lol
@CatMulvihill3 жыл бұрын
You are correct! I've done this before. You set up your own payment & registration, and in your confirmation email, you include the Zoom meeting details. It would part of your automation. For greater control, you can authenticate users with Zoom; however, it requires participants to have a Zoom account and use that specific email to join. This could cause a headache. If it's a manageable number, you can simply enable a waiting room and make sure only registered participants are let into the meeting.

You could also look at ticket platforms with API connections to Zoom like Eventbrite. This gives you professional payment and ticket options. Zoom’s options are rather limited. Even with the paid webinar upgrade, you only get PayPal payments.

as a speaker can I share a powerpointpresentation slide by slide myself, admitting people to enter OR do I have to ask another person to present each slide and to admit the visitors ? At the moment I am the speaker working with 2 other persons (Co hosts) to help me with these different tasks! It feels stupid and unprofessional. Maybe as I am 71 years old, I donot look too foolish to you? IF you want to respond I will be very grateful. Big virtual HUGS Diny Troeyen .

You can admit people and manage the slides. Personally, I like getting help from a co-host to admit people to the meeting so I can focus on presenting.

Hi Cat, That was most helpful, Thank you :) I will be hosting an event 30-50 people with 4 panelists and also a space for attendee participation. I was veering towards Webinar using the 'promote attendee to panelist' but after watching your presentation I realise that, as a bunch of therapists, feeling connected is important and that a Meeting is more appropriate. Can you suggest a way that 4 panelists can have the focus for a section of the event by using the Meeting? - Jerry

How about participants limit?
@CatMulvihill3 жыл бұрын
Yes, that's definitely something to consider. Both of the lowest paid plans have 100 and require a bigger plan to add more people. So you do have to think about how many people and your budget. Ideally, you chose the format that suits your presentation and then determine if it works with the budget.
