I remember popping into Fellini's Pizza in Little Five Point in Atlanta getting slices around 1990 and noticing this extraordinarily beautiful girl flipping pizzas with the most endearing voice I'd ever heard up until then. I'm very happy she became such a great singer-songwriter.

I flew out to the bay area to visit a former roommate. she had a new boyfriend who was at work that I had never met but said that he had bought us tickets for a show that night at the Fillmore. Well I wanted to know the band right away--I asked two word name or three? She said two. Later he came in, I met him and instantly asked who it was--Cat Power he said. It was during the Greatest tour. She killed it--it was totally amazing. The best is yet to come.

How could it ever happen that this great singer has been around so long - and I noticed her just a few weeks ago when finally (!) two German magazines / newspapers wrote about her new album? I guess her songs were never played on German language stations, at least her name was never mentioned. What a shame!! Since I listended to the first songs I can't get enough of her voice.
