ang ganda ganda ni Cat sa barot saya. i just wish that modern Filipina women would be more excited to wear traditional dress as much as they are excited to wear traditional dresses from Korea or Japan

Nako Alan, I am 59 yrs old ... at YAN ang pangarap ko pagtanda ko pa more and living my golden yrs in the Phils... I even found a lot reasonably priced at the Filipiniana section in SM Mall.. But to get what I want for everyday or casual use, siyempre ay maganda ang magaling na mananahi at knowing where to get good but reasonably priced textiles...

You see the more the dress was opened up, the more Filipinas began having more freedom as women. The way it evolved was influenced by the development of women's rights sa bansa natin lalo na noong mga panahong 1880s up to 1920s kung saan nagsisimula na ang awareness about women's rights. By 1930s, Filipiniana started to be seen as too formal for everyday wear and since hemlines began to rise in 1920s, nagsimula na din iadopt ng mga Filipinas ang mga western style na clothing.

The first one that was wearing the upper garment ay 1900-10 style base sa cut ng sleeve and fold ng Panuelo at hairstyle that's a Early 1900s Gibson while, the skirt is more 1890s ung style I can say na MIXED-UP nila ung style sa formal version. While the working class or dalagang bukid it was clear and on fleek na pang 1880s-90s mas accurate sa una niyang sinuot. :) I love this kultura101

Thank you so much for this cat! We are having a monologue as a school activity and we are covering the characters of el filibusterismo! I wanted my clothes to look as accurate as they were before because el fili was released during the 1890s and I wanted my look to just like be how it was before. This helped me understand just how thorough it is and what is really a filipiniana look. Before I did not know that there was actually a lot of clothes being layered and now I am more educated about the clothes of filipiniana. Thank you again cat!!❤❤
