Kudos to your mother! This film is definitely a great one to bond over. It has alot of important themes and one that stands out to me is perseverance in the face of adversary. Of course love plays a huge role in that as well. :)

I can already picture it, Danny and his friends take over Mammoth Industries after L.B. Mammoth retires, but Danny's optimism gets the better of him and starts to become pretentious and egotistical. Danny goes through an experience of overcoming a successful rival company (a parody of Disney), a rival animal actor, the risk of disrupting his relationship with Sawyer just as he plans to propose to her. All this for Danny to learn that even though he is a Star, he, like all the stars in the night sky, is just one of many, signifying that being successful is never about rising above others, but rising with them.
