What’s the movie Cats about?
Each year, during the Jellicle Cats Grand Ball, Dean Deuteronomy (Judi Dench from Shakespeare in Love, Mrs. Brown and Philomena) chooses the one who will have the chance to be reborn into a new life. Victoria (Francesca Hayward), an abandoned cat adopted by the group, attends the strange competition. Generous by nature, she is the only one to talk to Grizabella (Jennifer Hudson from Dreamgirls and Winnie Mandela), a former glory ostracized for having had a run-in with the evil Macavity (Idris Elba from Nelson Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom and Beasts of No Nation). The latter, a robber of the slums endowed with magical powers, will stop at nothing to be chosen by Deuteronomy.
