can you do a animals only run no chest no theif only animals and only 1 animal tower per animal so no 2 cats or all hydras

Hmm, that would be tricky because animal only negates a bunch of combos. Not sure you'd get enough power to make it through to the last boss. One of the only growing tower combos would be the frog/mosquito combo and that's a weaker combo, but it would give you some coin. Cats are worthless without milk, but maybe if you got a milk token to start or after the 2nd boss. Mosquitos don't have a lot of punch, but maybe the token that gives 12/12 or the 25/25 one would give it the dps it lacks. A bear plus honey would give a little extra punch, but it'd be pretty weak without a flower or forge tower to power it up. Only 1 hydra would be tough to make work, but it could help with the discount it gives to not just hydra, but other ones as well. I'm going to have to try it and see!

I haven't been able to beat the 2 stages with animals only. Been playing off/on for almost 3 hours. It may be possible, but you'd need the right starting circumstances, the right towers showing up when needed, and the right rewards for beating the 1st boss. The 4 times I beat the 1st boss were: 1. Cat/Milk tokens start and put them on a mosquito. Then got a frog tower to give a little extra coin, but I couldn't keep up with the scaling. 2. Hydra start, but barely scrapped by 1st boss and failed almost immediately afterwards 3. Cat/Milk tokens start and put them on cat tower. Had most optimism here, but didn't get a lot of cat towers and couldn't afford to reroll a lot. Never got any economy going. 4. Uncommons start with horse for extra gold and snake tower for dps. Later got lvl 3 mosquito and frog for more money. Again, I just couldn't keep up with the scaling. Had plenty of other promising starts that flamed out at the 1st boss. Lack of funds usually means you're pretty undeveloped to even take on the 1st boss, much less the later stages. I'd love to try that 25/25 token on a mosquito. Throughout my runs, bears were pretty anemic even when I had decent honey RNG. I had a couple champion token I could never take advantage of because I couldn't get towers up to lvl 5 without dying. The cat/milk route seems the most promising; either on a cat tower or maybe a mosquito. Maybe an animal only run would be viable without the only 1 tower per animal rule; several mosquito towers would give each other a little DPS and it'd be easier/cheaper to have many lvl 2-3 tower rather than a single lvl 3-4 tower. You need something economy wise as a reward after the 1st boss; discount token, free tower one, or the common stone one.

Janitor seems to be way too slow to use with bear to me. You only get the one tower's stat each time, and have no real control over which it is. And it might be hard to build them up as well. Try to build an iron to 3, only to have it get deleted one step away from perfection. Or Never get chosen for deletion at all. Stuff like that.

You have to get jester to get berserker though, unless you get special offer at game start.
