People think that kitty-jo is a ripe off of Daphne, but the "cattanooga cats", was actually released in the same year as "Scooby Doo Where Are You". "The Cattanooga Cats" predating the show by only 7 days, just a little bit of fun knowledge.

Too, remember that Mike Curb was brought in by 3400 Cahuenga to come up with their answer to the success of the Filmation-produced "The Archies" (which was created with help from Don Kirschner). And it was Curb's stable of session musicians that can be heard, with Mike Lloyd and Peggy Clinger handling vocals.

@@reddycat1957 To be fair, I keep hearing from everybody that saw this animated variety show that a lot of the animated segments weren’t focusing on this wonderful cartoon band were all over the place in terms of quality. So it only makes sense that Scooby-Doo Where Are You would take off in terms of popularity, since it hit the ground swinging.

I'd like to know how you found this out and if those 2 songs were ever recorded by any other group/artist. I've taken great interest in the Cattanooga Cats of late. Just managed to track down the album. All songs are credited to "Anihanbar/Mike Curb" which I know isn't true since at least one of the songs "You Must Be A Witch" was penned by Michael Lloyd of October Country fame. Also discovered a second non LP CC track "Cold Wisconsin Nights" first recorded by American Revolution on MGM.

@EddietheHead32 Exactly what I've been saying. I posted elsewhere that I think Kitty Jo is Daphne after taking polyjuice potion that had cat hair in it (you know, like Hermione in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets). Seeing Kitty Jo tied up in this video reinforces the Daphne likeness, in fact I think there were some kinky animators at Hanna Barbera who enjoyed tying female cartoon characters up.

+groovy CC no contest. The songs were better, the times were freer, and cc had better acts backing up their show. The Splits were at a point HB had reached a formula with these shows, and CC was allowed to make better, more grown up songs, bc they had less constraints.
