they actually states that our personality are more likely innate and not environmental or caused by experience.
@JPBuduan7 ай бұрын
in a way ganyan nga ang implication although Trait/Factor theories do not really care about the origin of personalities. Their focus is the here and now of the personality. it is what it is yung motto nila about their definition of personality hehe

Pero dba ung sa trait nga tinutukoy ko. Na mas lamang daw na innate un. Katulad ng study nila ng mga may extrovert at introvert personality. Na may biological origin daw un. I think kay ensyenk na part un ng trait na more on biological and not it is as it is.
@JPBuduan7 ай бұрын
I am not saying you are wrong. You are correct that they conceptualized traits as innate and biological. I am just pointing out that they did not emphasize the environmental and experience factor in personality so it would be unfair to say that traits are not environmental or caused by experience. For them, answering that question is practically useless since they focus on the here and now of the personality, with the motto "it is what it is" because it is there, regardless of the origin (biological man, environmental or both). The motto part is just my assessment of their theories and it is not a part of their actual conceptualization. To summarize, I agree with you. I just want to emphasize that they did not obsess about the origin of personality as much as Freud and others would have. Only Costa & McCrae expanded on the origin of personality when they updated their theory to include external factors but this was an ad-hoc update because of the criticism (same with your comment about trait theory) they received.✌️
