Pittsburgh Steel Cable & Rope Shears Review

Here's a review of Harbor Freights 6649 wire and cable Cutters. These things are really cheap and actually surprisingly well made they just are not for hardened steel wiring cable only mild steel and would be great for heavy electrical wire. . .

Yes excellent review! I too just purchased these and used them to cut all the old battery cable ends off my battery cables to replace the ends (like 6 pairs of jumper cables) these cutters cut through the material like butter!!

A cutoff wheel on a air grinder makes a nice clean cut on any cable.

I bought a set a few years ago. I could have chewed the cables off with my teeth with less hastle. The worst 20 bucks I ever spent ! buy a pair of porter of knipex sometimes it's better pay more!

I have a pair of those, they are good for cutting heavy gauge copper cable.

Bought one today. Makes 1/8 deck cable railing look like a mouse chewed it. Tools state what they cut . Not confusing. Harbor Freight guy couldn't even find the tool on his company phone. No markings indicated whether it was a copper/aluminum tool or not. It is an electrician's tool made in china. Not a steel wire cutter. Don't bother.

Although chains are heavy they can't be cut by tools like these

Just got mine, same hinge bolt and nut, blew apart.. stripping out all the threads on the bolt and nut while 'trying' to cut simple 7/19 1/4" galvanized wire rope. I had high hopes based on HF customer reviews.. didn't work out for me. I'll try a real bolt and nut before I toss them in the toy box.
