It makes my heart soar to see what a loving father you are. I enjoy the videos and seeing the techniques you use in your crafts. I see it as art. Thank you for sharing it with all of us.

jingle dress originated from my tribe. Mille lacs band of Ojibwe we were the first to make the jingle dress... its an honor to have that noticed in the video

Autumn Ballinger there are stories from whitefish bay Ontario about the jingle dress as well, there are stories about the jingle dress from Mille Lacs, Leeche Lake and whitefish bay Ontario, and there are documented evidence that the jingle dress was around in the late 1900s, I believe all Ojibway people should be proud to have brought the jingle dress to First Nations people, and no disrespect to your reserve, but I don’t believe any certain reserve can take 100% credit, if anything the creator and spirits created the jingle dress, they should get the credit

Good job explaining things. Im a professional seamstress, and seems to me you covered points very well. This was helpful. We have a friend who is a single father of two beautiful half-Navaho girls. He does fantastic with them, taking them to pow-wows and helping them to meet Native leaders. Unfortunately, he's a Scottish Viking with no clue how to make regalia for them. So, guess who's been enlisted. I do beadwork, too, so that doesn't scare me, but I haven't seen the traditional methods and dress since I was a child. Looking forward to hunting down and watching the rest of your videos.

My Great Grandmother's name was Mini Lightfoot from Philadelphia MS. She was raised on the Reservation, and she was Choctaw. Do you know where I can find any information on her. I would love to get involved & learn more about my Heritage. Any ideas?

To start off, you can go to an elder from your tribe and get as much insight as you can and learn the traditional regalia for your tribe and honor it.
