What an incredibly underrated talent the late, great Donald O' Connor was ! Most accidentally I happened directly into him when I was a youngster, and got to speak with him for a little bit ! Not only a great movie star but also a fine gentleman .

My dad met him in college. I would've loved to meet him.

It's hard to imagine Donald and Peggy not being a team! Donald and Gloria were cute together, too, though. Loved "Grandma"!!!

One of the greatest tap dancers ever, certainly on a par with Gene Kelly.

Too bad this movie hasn't been restored and isn't available on DVD. Looks like fun!

The guy laying on the hammock in the beginning of the movie was Leo Carillo, a popular old time actor who later became Pancho on the Cisco Kid, Hey Pancho Hey Cisco. His family at one time owned a lot of California until The Americans , Mexican war.

Yesterday watched the movie Ghost Catchers 1944 where he also stars with Gloria Jean. He was a great actor, according to Duncan Ronaldo he learned mandarin with his Chinese cook. He was already in his 70's when he played Pancho, but looked much younger.

In fact, don't know which movie is this from but he's probably in his 60's here, like in Ghost Catchers, and doesn't look at all.

Holy crap! I really did look like Donald O'Conner when I was his age. Why did I dislike my own looks so much; they were certainly working for him.

"Grandma" was played by child actress Susan Levine, who appeared in a few movies in 1942 and 1943, mostly as her character "Tag a Long" with the Jivin' Jacks and Jills, before leaving the Hollywood scene.

Peggy Ryan was always like a sister, nothing romantic there. He actually had eyes for Gloria Jean I read. Im glad it never got weird with Peggy Ryan. They were total goofballs together.
