In Jurassic Word, the dinosaurs were way more fleshed out than those of the original trilogy, to the extent that caring for them took up a significant portion of their plots. The connection with Blue was to emphasize that; even the stereotypically villainous Velociraptor can be empathetic due to its intelligence. This scene, in contrast, shows a cliche horror villain setting up a trap that it shouldn’t be intelligent enough to pull off (or that someone shouldn’t be dumb enough to fall for). There’s a lot of valid comparisons you can make between JP and JW, but this isn’t one of them.

Although it’s not a “good” movie, it still had moments like these that had me on edge, and had me intrigued on how these raptors adapted, like having a complex way of speaking to one another

I truly wonder if every single dinosaur that ever lived was a vicious, carnivorous animal who spent their entire life maiming, killing, and eating prey.

I gotta say, the JP3 raptors are my favorite in the series. We really get to see their intelligence here. And a smart predator is scariest to me, planning how, when and where to catch it’s prey. 😟
