As a vocalist, I’d be very surprised if it wasn’t Lillian. Her breaths, the phrasing, her expressions all seem to fit the vocal really well. When you’re feeling what you’re singing, it’s natural to close your eyes, especially when you’re in your upper register. My vote is Lillian. 🎶

@@marblesgrande1680I don’t deny that, many singers are known for lip syncing. I’m basing my guess off of the pitch, timbre and ornamentation/runs Lillian does in the rest of the song. Pretty sure it’s her in the intro to verse 1, the 1st, 2nd chorus singing, “I’m barely surviving/staring into the blaring sun…,” the later parts of the refrain and the final chorus. But to each their own, we’re all welcome to our opinions. 🤙🏽

I think it’s Queenie, the quick inhale she does matches up with the audio and she’s the only one with her mouth open as she sang the last word. If you listen closely enough you can hear that the singing voice is coming from the right side of the room. And the voice seems to have an accent to it like someone of color, more specifically black. Makhyli is taking breathes between each verse, moving her hands and head more, you can see her throat vidrating slightly, and her mouth is opening like it should be when doing a vibrato note.

tbh i'm pretty confident its Elana and cuz Lillian is actually pretty off if you look closer and Elana matches her mouth shapes with the vocals pretty accurately and the way she's singing looks accurate for her over all body posture and you can even tell she is trying to look less obvious while still holding a natural and comfortable body posture just a slight bit and her vocal cords and breathing movements wouldn't be so obvious to see from where she is standing and maybe as well as how she is singing because it seems to be like this is her range of comfort so ofc it might looks like more effortless it seems

I'd recommend listening to one of their older shorts "it's really all we want" (girls just wanna have fun cover) where they all sing in their upper voice registers in isolation; Lillian from that older video sings the same pitch sung here (C#5), but the tone here more closely matches Elana's tone from the older video. Lillian on that same pitch opens her vowels more and belts the note, whereas Elana keeps it a bit more closed but it's still within her comfortable range. Basically, I'm like 90% sure it's Elana in this video here

That's how you lip sync lol, you accent certain things happening in the music so it seems as if you're actually singing. All of them do this at different points. I definitely believe it's either Queenie or Elena because they are more reserved and not doing as much and just letting vocals ring. Also, being a voice teacher raising your head causing more strain in the voice not clarity which makes me lean more towards Queenie, but man Elana is confusing me lol

Lilian, for reasons that are really technical since I’m a nitpicky singer lol First, her vowels match perfectly. When I say vowels, I don’t mean timing with the words. The person singing the song is singing it very “brightly”. When someone is singing with a bright sound, they’re using their head voice, their vowels are very smile like, and the sound is directed through the nose. The way Lilian’s vowels match the style and timing with the lyrics, and the way her nose is scrunched to help direct the sound makes me believe it’s her. During the vibratos on “surviving” and “blinding”, her head does a little shake. It’s something I personally do a lot to help “feel” the vibrato. Faking that is hard since it’s such a natural movement. Oh and in a video where they’re singing this song and stacking the harmonies, Lilian is the one who sings this part and it’s the exact same sound as the one in this video😅

Hiya! Fellow nitpicky singer here. A bright sound does not always equal head voice, and I'd argue that the singing here Definitely does not sound like head voice. It sounds like chest voice brought up almost as high as it can go before the switch into mixed voice. People who are trained to sing are mostly trained out of any scrunching type facial expressions since that puts tension in your facial muscles which can hinder the clarity of sound as well as ease of singing. The head motion during vibrato is also a tension-gathering motion that most well-trained singers are trained out of. It is difficult to fake, but not impossible. I personally think it's Makhyli singing because if you watch, her abdomen contracts and releases in all the right spots, and her jaw doesn't hold a lot of tension - which is important because the sound itself doesn't seem like there's a lot of tension in it. Most singers are trained out of all the hand moving as well, but it's a really popular thing to continue doing if you're singing in the pop genre. Not sure why, but it's just a really popular move in pop. And it doesn't directly hinder the sound as much as the forcible head shaking.
