@@lasttrain8843 No, he knows she is not guilty, as he knows the law. However, as a judge he is not allowed to make the defendants arguments for them. A judge is only allowed to make a ruling based on the evidence and arguments presented. The whole "Guilty plea should be struck from the record" is also a legal formality, as that would be evidence against the lady despite her doing nothing wrong. This situation is why the court is allowed to appoint a lawyer, and you should usually accept it when offered.

@Richard Milliken May I ask where you saw that he’s making 10 million?
@zacharias72843 жыл бұрын
@@rayan_mir I did some googling and couldn't find that anywhere. Net worth websites are largely bogus, but they all have him at around $1-2 million net worth, which wouldn't be remotely accurate if he was making $10 million a year. I'm sure he gets some money beyond his salary as a judge due to the success of the tv show (which was initially local for 20 years but became nationally syndicated after it blew up on KZbin/Facebook). But considering that the Big Bang Theory, which was the highest-rated show on television, was paying its actors $1 million per episode for its final season... I doubt a judge on a show dealing with traffic and parking tickets is making $10 million a year or anywhere close to it. In fact, he doesn't get paid for the show at all, but his brother is the producer so who knows whether or not he ends up with some of the profits. He does have four homes... a $300K home in Providence, a $1.7 million home in Naragansett, and two Florida homes (in Miami and West Palm Beach). So he's undoubtedly doing quite well. But $10 million a year? No way. He's been a judge for 35 years and is the chief municipal judge in Providence, so I'm sure he makes a good living in the low six figures.
