Pesky razor bumps and ingrown hairs can be caused by shaving too close to the skin and using dull blades. Coarse and curly hair textures are more susceptible to ingrown hairs. To avoid these issues, use trimmers that are set farther away from the skin, shave with the grain, and switch to a sharp blade. Get ready to enjoy smooth skin!

Been using Skin Tight for years. It's legit. Also, I think black men should consider shaving with a safety razor. I switched to one last year and I'll never go back to cartridge razors. It feels much better on the skin and its way cheaper.

I have used a safety razor and I still get bumps. That’s one of the things that made me just grow out my beard which looks fairly better in my opinion than shaved. I just don’t think I was meant to shave. I still do it from time to see what’s underneath but it becomes a problem if I have to shave all the time

100%facts. I've stopped using regular multi blade razors due to having bad razor bumps. Bought a safety razor from dollar tree and noticed my bumps started to go away. I liked them so much that I ended up buying a legitimate safety razor. 1 note people, be careful. The safety razor us very sharp. If you have bumps, they will bleed

Switching from those disposable multiblade razors to a old school safety razor did wonders for me. not to mention the savings on blades. Looks like he's handy with that straight razor. That likely gives him a great shave. Great advise here all around.

I suggest to use a moisturizer enriched with vitamin C daily after shaving, my husband suffered all his life and used only trimmers. He used my vitamin C enriched during covid and he is now shaving and using it right after. It’s 4 years now and his skin is smooth.. I hope you’ll find this useful 😊

How did you take care of it
@steveo6408
@steveo6408 5 ай бұрын
@@danielalcantar8047 the main thing I did was stopped using razors. Getting a skin close shave creates a huge issue with razor bumps for people with coarse or thick curly hair. Use a trimmer and cut with the grain of your hair. Before and after you cut exfoliate your skin this way it can lift any existing trapped hairs and create a better environment to be cut. After you shave apply alcohol or witch hazel if alcohol is too strong for you. Finally moisturize with a non comedogenic moisturizer so it won’t clog your pores.
@steveo6408
@steveo6408 5 ай бұрын
@@danielalcantar8047 and if you do already have infected bumps don’t try to tweez or pop, apply peroxide as much as possible to dry it out and let time pass it will heal on its own. Trying to tweeze and squeeze will just create more issues/scarring

How?
@steveo6408
@steveo6408 4 ай бұрын
@@danielalcantar8047 so basically you need to cut your facial hair and neck with trimmers. Cut with the grain of how your hair grows. This won’t be a skin close shave how razors would provide however skin close shaving is what causes the bumps in the first place. Before and after you trim clean and exfoliate to lift any current trapped hairs. After use alcohol if you have sensitive skin use witch hazel. Now if you already have ingrown hairs/infected bumps don’t try to tweeze them out. Just keep the area clean and use alcohol or peroxide to dry out the bump and use an exfoliant to shed the dead skin. Let time take its course trying to mess with it just makes it worse leading to more infection and or scarring.

I remember seeing a comment by an old school barber who had been doing so for over 40 years. He said, use a sharpened blade as often as possible, go ALONG the grain, nobody really minds thick beards unless you wax it off to get that smooth effect, and, get this: use cold water to wash off your shaved skin. Not sure what was the logic, maybe some dermatologist can expand on this.

I shave with a single blade razor. After I shower in hot water to open my pores, I apply shaving oil to my face and neck, then I apply shaving lotion. I use a fresh blade every time. The blade glides smoothly over my face. Afterwards, I use a cold towel on my face to tighten my pores, and apply cooling aftershave lotion. I used a popular black owned shaving produce. I shave every other day to prevent skin irritation.
