Excellent stuff! For copying I'd use TIME selection instead of LASSO in the case of sequence, and many other cases when you need to choose all the keys/octaves there might be so nothing is missed. Anyway I like the video, on the point all the time! Caustic is great, been using it for I don't know how many years.

Thanks for sharing all the helpful videos. I wanted to ask if there is a way to insert multiple wav files from one folder into the pcmsynth? I read in one of the forums where this one cat mentioned you could zip the folder and then when you go to load I'm guessing a preset...it loads all the files in the folder..I still like to tune and distribute my samples where the need to go according to notes and in tune. But maybe this is how the drums are brought it...anyway...just throwing that out there.. Just LeMayKnow

Ive never done it but I have SF2 files on the pcm that has folders with files in them so it is possible.

@@brockhardentertainment the zip (compressed) folder worked. I''m going to do a couple more to find out the designated keys it targets when loaded.im curious if it will do a zip folder with all the piano notes I have every 4th key to use. I'll keep you posted.

@@AngryCagen oh that's cool! The zip folder import! Wow
@AngryCagen Жыл бұрын
@@SamiJumppanen it works like a charm. Just take your favorite samples and put them in a folder and zip it. It typically goes in order by alphabet, so if tou were bringing in samples for a juno analog you would want to distribute them accordingly. Like one sample typically covers 4 notes depending on what you have. Then you just use the root key and start and stop to set them. I love caustic but I love playing music and while caustic is amazing g for this, I can't seem to set the piano roll for more than 8 then the largest after that, but there has to be a way to make it longer so I could Playland record more than 30 to 45 seconds at a time.

Very interesting, I've never looked into any of this, clever. Got a question for ya. Say Im using the subsynth, just as an example. I'm tapping away on the keys on my controller playing a melody. How do I record that into the piano roll in either the machine's piano roll or the sequencer piano roll. Is that even possible? Ta
@brockhardentertainment Жыл бұрын
Just hit record and start playing. Depending on whether you have pattern or song selected is where the midi notes will show up.
@AngryBulldogg Жыл бұрын
@@brockhardentertainment strange, tried both, song and pattern..No notes appear in the piano roll/pattern editor after recording. Caustic recognises my controllers, I've mapped to encoders and the keybed plays the notes spot on. Just can't seem to get them recorded into the pattern editor. Would be nice to syncopate them. Thanks for replying tho mush. Appreciate the help

How did u get 808 beat??

The 808 drum kit comes stock in Caustic and I wrote in the drum pattern manually in the beatbox sequencer.

As usual mine didn't work. I am getting to the point of giving up on Caustic. When I import my own midi, low and behold....there is just silence and no notes.

@@themanfromvolantis Sometimes the midi that you download isnt any good or the specific midi selection (of the group) doesnt have anything. Make sure you are in song mode. You can email me the midi if you want and i can see if it works.

Thank you. I downloaded an annoying midi player app and played it through there. It deffo works. One thing I noticed is when I attempt to import to Caustic, that it does update the BPM despite the notes not being there. Scratches head.

@@themanfromvolantis Did you check the entire song sequencer? Sometimes the notes dont start tell later on, like 20 bars down. If not then try a different midi of the same thing, it might work.

It can be tricky, I usually just stay away from midi. If I want to use something, I'll usually just learn they keys and play it myself.
