I am a life-long horse lover. I have never attended a show. However, in all Cavalia KZbin videos I have watched, I observed riders holding sticks/riding crops. I had the opportunity to meet one of the Cavalia horse trainers who was visibly perturbed when I questioned the presence of these sticks. The trainer condescendingly stated that I knew nothing about horses because if I did, I would know that “you can’t make a horse do anything it doesn’t want to do.” So then this must be where the stick comes into effect; to force horses into compliance.
