I saw this one live the 2nd day of the season. After missing an entire season...I cried for real after the first hit. I'm incredibly impressed in what they were able to put together in such a short time. This is easily a 90+ point show at this point in the short season. Could have potentially been a winner had they been scoring.

This year has been great because drum corp has gone back to being somewhat traditional...most corps aren't using props and staging...just music and movement this year.

@@retro420 this year was really my first taste of traditional drum corps because I barely got into it in late 2018 and I really enjoyed even though I’m biased to the bluecoats, because they were the corps that got me into dci, I really enjoyed shows like the cadets, phantom regiment, and the cavaliers

I love this type of Cavaliers. Their prog not to abstract and complicated to think and understand, their music and reprtoire is catchy and the drill is so technical and insane... which the whole performance is eyecandy and earcandy... like during their golden era of 90s and 00s... initially I hope that Cavies regain back their identity for d following years after this prog. But it is still not there... i hope Cavies can revisit their past prog n identity... no need to try to bcome like other crops, sacrificing your own idntty for d sake of following trend or evolve through time. You r you. The Green Machine.

Rumor has it that the corps were actually adjudicated but scores were only given to the corps directors or smth, supposedly cavs would have been the winner this year had scores been published. Apparently a lot of the judges working in 2021 were rookie judges who were more or less learning the ropes. Idk how true any of this is tho so take it with a grain of salt

Just read the contents of Show Design 101. I am assuming this person has some actual experience in this area and, if so, it goes a long way toward what for past 20 years or so has fucked up drum corps for the average viewer. Forget themes, through point and all of that crap. Is it entertaining and is it well done? Does it elicit emotion from the audience? If yes, it is successful. I don’t give a rip about what a bunch of music majors and choreographers think about advancing “the art”.
