I wish drum lines would stop doing these ballet jumps and spins and lifting their legs up. I think it looks sooooo terrible. Yes I can see emphasizing certain parts or intense parts of certain songs but give me a break. The more I watch drum lines the worse it gets. Late 80’s to the early 2000 that was when drum lines were bad ass!!!! They showed a sense of coming up to the front and showing how bad ass they are. Slamming notes in your face, then turning around and walking away as they just blew everyone off their seat. I understand things change as time goes on. But I just don’t get this. I thought the flag corps were the ones that presented the physical aspects of the show? The horns and drum line lays down the music. Just my thoughts!
