I had a great time recording these solos and I hope everyone takes them for what they are. I played this on a cornet that was 130 years old without any modernizing. I felt very privileged to have arrangements done for me especially for the recording and I had the worlds number 1 ranked brass band accompanying me. I could never triple tongue before I worked on this. Good luck everyone. Keep practicing !!

Superb recording!!! Wonderful playing - SUPER musical!!!! I played French horn professionally for decades, but now I play trumpet for my own enjoyment. I ALWAYS played "tah-kah-tah" or "tuh-kuh-tuh" - and extremely well - for triple tongueing on horn, but... I am finding that it works better to play "dah-dah-gah" or "duh-duh-guh" on trumpet/cornet. I am still retraining my brain/tongue to successfully make the switch. I wonder why "dah-dah-gah" works better on trumpet?

@@thomassicard3733 my old teacher tol me it works better because the Arban book is a French book. Tah-kah-tah sound different with a French inflection.

play tipp take the thing you find hard. play slow one and one movement. set upp to tempo when you got the gripp and there you go. (takes around 2-5min in other word you earn 2 hours) O and I think for you who want to use this as play and lissen here is the time for the diferent heads ^^ I myself wil use it intro (play) from 0:33 Theme from 3:06 var 1 from 4:23 (I am about to begin on that one...) Var 2 from 5:22 Var 3 and Finale 1 from 6:29 FINALE from 7:28

The mid D at the pause before the Cadenza into the Air.. three notes along is a C# yet he do not play the C# 12 notes into the Cadenza and there is no natural sign to state not to.. If you play it as it is composed it do sound odd.. points out Db to C#(which is sat as a C without a natural sign) (Db C# same note) which is also not played in this version.. ; Have I missed a musical rule here?

Witches and Vampires not romantic gangsters .. Arbanovitch.. the arban pieces that lead to the polkas at the end are as a murderer laying a trap.. trapeze like moments.. elements of the circus.. ; Creeping around the passages..,

It's easy to fall into a European conformity of character and forget the magic castle and the magic trumpet. ; But yes, the missing natural signs.. I suggest we both look to Boosy and Hawkes for the answer and take no blame ourselves..

It misses the menace, like an overly dominant parent. It's played here like a good Yorkshire daddy and misses the murdery elegance beneath.; It's too inspired by 20thC Romance.; It's like a whirlygig at a crystal palace actual rather than embracing the theme of the vibe of said performance.. ; Some say too militant like a radicle who has not considered the characters of the Opera.. more free time and less of the speed play.; Over?bering and too strait..

its ll not that hard until the 32nd notes :)

And let me say this. I was folowing the notes and saw them... but the speed I can almost not read the notes that fast in var 2 to finale. how du I posible play it! well I will use a easy methode take one "sentence" at a time. slow and steady and increase the speed when I got it. Works and take less time for the qality. Remember qality is bether than quantity.

eidane there is no substitute for hard work. I'm working on the first characteristic study in the arbans and I've probably put in at least 30 hours just cleaning up the first half.
