Caving in the Gouffre Berger - "Immersion" - In the footsteps of Fernand Petzl

Team Petzl retraces the steps of the first explorers (Joe Berger, Fernand Petzl, Jean Lavigne, Georges Garby, Pierre Chevalier...). Thanks to extraordinary images from the film "Siphon-1122" (directed by Georges Marry in 1962 and produced by Jack Lesage) relive the intensity of the first descent in this now well-known, must see cave.

"on éteind la lampe … aucun bruit la bande son fait entendre des chutes de gouttes d'eau… ? si, et à bons essais aussi le corps humain émet des sons de lui même / effectivement, sous terre, il y a des lieux peu sonores, homéothermes, quasi, … et en bivouac : lumière éteinte ou ?

en allant remonter le matos du fond à la salle du bivouac (années 80) à l'aide terminale d'un camp région Auvergne, je me souviens (en attendant que les autres commencent à remonter le derniers puits avant le siphon) être parti en opposition et escalade au dessus de celui-ci, avec des peus de ne pas pouvoir revenir à la berge et avoir vu une corde bleue au fond de l'eau : à la première plongée apnée, je n'arrive pas au fond (? qq m. pas profond) ; sachant que le shorty néoprène me ferait souffrir de chaleur à la remontée, je l'ai rangé dans un des kits (pas de ceux des cordes et avoir pu aller au fond de l'eau en amont de ce siphon pour remonter cette corde qui a été nommée par les autres en surface comme une corde des roumains : amusant non ? (j'en ai fait des porte-clés Alain FERNANDEZ).

I've been a cave explorer since 1964 ( [e-mail] ). Now a paid Life Regular who prefers not to explore using a cave map or footsteps for a clue. I'm going by preference to where none of our species have been. NASA has said that what people like me are learning from explorations is expected to have application on moons and other planets. Feel free to help NASA by remaining seated with any dark interest and fed social media excreta. Weird mushrooms are a science experiment.
