Its great to see you so excited, that was a massive long nosed emperor, those were well the first big fish I ever caught when I first started fishing on my own, nearly pulled my little body into the water was on a handline. First fish ever was a saber squirrle fish, lucky I had my big cousin to unhook it for me, because those spikes on the gills are nasty.

Cruck all your barbs down and use a diamond file to make a triangular cutting point on your hooks. If you lose a fish with your plug.. it can shake it out. The myth of a hook rusting out is BS. Looks like he's back in Australia again but if you're serious about emigrating you might also want to check out New Zealand because they still have some cold weather there or if you're like me and tired of cold weather you might enjoy trying something more exotic like the eastern Islands of Indonesia. Anywhere from Bali eastward will set you up on fantastic fishing. Borneo is also great but it's much hotter there. Good luck.

3:10 with such a strong current you're better off casting upstream. The current might not be so strong a couple meters below. Predators will hang out in holes or crevices where the current is weak and dart up to snag small fish that are being swept along.

Cavy, for the views dropping I think its a general decrease in fishing. I have a mate who owns a tackle store and tackle used to be selling out instantly 15 months ago so they increased capacity and now they can't sell anything. I reckon during covid and after lots of people began fishing and now its died down slowly.
