I’ll tell ya what this kid came out and played football with us for Team BC flag team and he was so unbelievably athletic it was shocking to see. He looked like he’d played for all his life. Great person too super humble. hope he ends up with Montreal

Thanks man ! The habs are gonna have to start losing games if they want a chance at Lindstrom. Brandsegg-Nygård is the next best thing if that's the type of player you like. Even more abrasive but the stats aren't great...

Slafkovsky was more dominant at the same age. Better stick handler, better edge work, better puck protection and better shot. Slaf was doing good at cycling pucks in liiga which is a hard league for a 17 year old to get minutes and dominated against men at world's and Olympics playing for a subpar team. Huge pass on Lindstrom top 10.

I really don’t see that at all about slaf. I thought he was severely overrated. I think they’re actually fairly close in talent and I’m pretty sure Lindstrom will be gone in the top 10 lol

​​​@@italian1ist you haven't watched Slafkovsky play recently I guess. Slafkovsky is basically starting to dominate in all facets of the game, starting to trust his shot and he's an excellent passer. Way better IQ, Slafkovsky will be the better player in the long run. Second I never said Lindstrom won't be picked top 10, that I would pass on him if I have the choice between him or Catton, who I feel is probably the most underrated top 10 pick, Eiserman, future 40+ goal scorer with size, Parekh who has the highest overall ceiling of any D plus strong compete and Demidov

​@@BD-oc1pbmore vision and IQ? Slafkovsky is very good defensively and very creative offensive player. He's doing it in the NHL right now. 16 points in last 23 games since being moved up to first line and he's only 19. I have a hard time seeing Lindstrom play at that level as a 19 year old, let alone if Lindstrom was playing against man at world's and Olympics, I don't think he get much playing time, let alone if he would even play for a team like Slovakia. Funny how people underrate Slafkovsky because of last season.

THats a wild statement. Lindstrom is amazing and would be a great fit on Chicago but Celebrini is definitely better.

His skating & size remind me a lit of Kirby Dach. but like you said about Slafs not being a finished product whose results we have been able to see in the NHL to compare another guy to him… same could be said about Dach. So I would say the next closest thing is probably a Roope Hintz lite

Yeah, not a bad comparison. I think today Roope Hintz is a significantly better playmaker and is a product of his hockey sense but if anyone knew that at the time he wouldn't have made it to the 2nd round. Maybe Lindstrom develop better playmaking habits with time and become more of a dual threat.

First overall will be Celebrini. 2nd overall will be between Demidov & Lindstrom imo. (Eiserman seems to have attitude/character issues. I don’t think he’ll go 2nd overall like many thought) So yeah… Lindstrom is better than you think if you’re “closer to Pronman than Elite Prospects“ in your rankings

I don't necessarily think he's better than I think he is, but he's definitely getting picked higher than where I have him right now. But at the same time, the season is way too young to know where he will end up in my final ranking. I think Demidov is 2nd overall on skill alone but I would be very surprised if a team picked him there. Especially with the plethora of really really good defensemen.

You have to be very patient with this type of prospect; right now he’s getting by just on his tools in junior hockey. Byfield was a similar prospect but much more skilled and further along which is why he went top 3. It’s still taken a few years for him to start making an impact. I think as an organization, from a value aspect whats the opportunity cost. Will he provide an impact on your team or will that impact be on his third team/contract. I think I would rather just sign or trade for a power forward (even if they are less talented) on the buy low during a competitive window than deal with what will undoubtedly be a long and arduous journey with this type of prospect. This is hockey not the nba; size and speed is nice but it doesn’t make you unguardable like Gannis. Newsflash you are shooting from 1 inch off the ice 🧊. Also motor skills of skating and stepping are just different. I think GMs drool over the prospect of discovering a 6-5 Connor Mcdavid that is unstoppable on the ice 🧊; that player doesn’t exis😮t. In the top 10 you want to draft a franchise winger, defenseman or center man that will be a pillar in your organization. This prospect imo would be a nice to have complimentary piece but not a must have.

Well there was Mario Lemieux but I fully agree with your comment. People always want the big fancy power forward, but they rarely amount to anything and the ones that do are usually on there 3rd team hitting 26. Not a good investment. Get a power forward when your team reaches there window! And yes Lindstrom is not a must have, not the type you build around. Much more skilled players in this draft. Some team is going to draft him top 10 but that team will regret there pick.

I wouldn't be surprised at all if he went top 3. If he keeps producing at this pace once he comes back from Injury, I think the chance of him going top 3 will be like 90%

If I was on stage and I had to pick one or the other, I'd probably go with Catton. What he's doing on his team with basically no support is kinda spectacular. Lindstrom isn't far behind but Catton is the brain of his team.

I don't remember saying that he was bad with or without the puck ? I'm pretty sure I remember saying that he was becoming an unexpectedly good play driving 2 way beast no ? I haven't watched the video since the day I released it so I'm not sure but I don't feel or remember being negative about Slaf at all.

@@bluechipprospect I haven't watched the video since I commented but you made it pretty clear Lindstrom was a higher quality prospect of the same age. Lots of people think Slafkovsky would go after Lindstrom if they where of the same draft, so nothing personal.
