Cayenne S Exhaust Sound Hack for $28

Using 2 straight pipes to bypass the muffler. Cost me $28 for both pipes.
However since I was lazy, it took me three attempts. What worked is 51mm diameter but it was a bit loose. Need to flange out the end. 63mm will fit the entrance but it will get smaller and smaller to about 54mm. Length of pipe is 400mm, but it can be to about 450mm

​@@OverlandTT, thank you! Clogged drains is a problem on many many cars - not just this platform, nor just German cars. And it may cause serious problems on many many cars, too. The drains under the windshield, and ones on the roof if you have a sunroof, need to be checked and cleared from debris periodically.

Can this have negative effects in few months or years ? Because it seems it blocks the gas emission of the car and it can damage any other parts of the vehicle. Thanks for help !

You should not block the main in the middle. Just the holes on the muffler. Effectively it’s just a strait pipe, w/o welding. So sliding the pipe, however the heavy muffler is still there. This is a cheap and quick way to straight pipe.

@@JunYamog Remove muffler if you live in a state where they don't do emissions test. Save gas get rid of that heavy muffler. Weighs 40 plus pounds

This doesn't obstruct passage through the muffler, it simply prevents sound absorption.

Make sure you have a slash cut in your pipes & turned the right way if yours in a turbo model , be warned

I need help, im trying to install them on my cayenne but the are two problems: 1. the bults of the left size of my muffler are very tight and i cant get them off 2. i tried a 54mm pipe (440mm of length) but it seems to enter just around 70mm, i think its a bit wide, but im not sure Thanks

Alejandro Ruiz Carpio #1 you need to put some anti seize spray like stuck due to corrosion. #2 you may need to inspect, mine had a small inlet on one side, which I trimmed off

@@alejandroruizcarpio6928 my bolts and brackets were siezed one side broke off after me givingit some hell trying to take it off,the other side was just as hard so I cut it off with a saw.i went to Canadian tire and bought all the parts including aftermarket muffler clamps.everything is running good without any problems

@@paulbacon6732 no, I have done a lot of preventative maintenance on ours. Actual repairs is minimal we only had starter and cardan shafts as repairs. Maintenance we replace parts pro actively, expensive or cheap it depends on the person.

Yes WOF is ok, not that loud. No error code, car doesn’t even know about it. This is purely mechanical, it’s like putting a stick in the muffler.... best thing it’s easily reversible. I have kept mine, I may move to real new muffler but that is very low priority

@@paulbacon6732 ever since I posted this video, I haven’t reverted back. It’s not loud on idle or low rpm. It’s just right for me. I don’t know about V6, definitely it would sound different. Every engine layout had different sound, that why we have a V8, v10, v6 and inline 6... they are all distinct.

Possibly not, yours is a 958. This only works on 955

You can, but not sure it's worth it. You need 4 pipes to keep balanced on a 958. I think replacing or deleting the back box would be the answer

Richard Palmer probably but the V8 already sound good stock, so it's unlikely going to change the sound of a v6. BTW I have a v6 land cruiser, v6 sounds are different.

The V6 still has a crackle and I'm sure it will make it sound more throaty considering it's bypassing most of that rear muffler.
