I have this exact boat. I hit 72 with full tank and tour load. Took a while to get the trim and hydraulic plate figured out for top speed. I think from factory with fixed Jack plate 68 is what you get. By raising the motor a few inches, you can get more trim that will get more hull out of water and better speed as a result. This boat does take a little bit of seat time to learn to drive fast. My first few trips were pretty scary. At 70 it’d start getting pretty unstable. After a few times I learned what steering corrections were needed to get ahead of it.

Cool feature in the soft wave landing, nitros gotta be the worst ride I Was sore for days after a BFL lmao thing slams the lake

You need a hydraulic jack plate and a Yamaha. I've got both and have no problem hitting 70 with a full tank and full load. The only thing I don't have is poles. It's a smooth riding boat but you do have to drive it once you break mid sixties because they want to chine walk.

Looked like u had some trim left in that top speed run?

That boat sits high in the water like a 16ft bass boat, my Bullet 20xd with Mercury 225 sports Xs w sportsmaster lower unit does 84 easily, I’m surprised this boat doesn’t do low 70s with the fuel that’s in it! To each their own!

What's your prop pitch

I believe the fuel tank in these boats is under the cockpit floor. Too much weight forward. It’ll ride soft in chop, but not “fast” on top end.

He was only turning 5650 on that proxs. That motor has 70mph in it

Boats seem alittle slower than other boats

It does do 70. Mine does with a full tank and a full load but I've got a hydraulic jack plate.

68 with a 225 is pretty pathetic, and the thing doesn't even have a full tournament load, poles, 2 more graphs and a full fuel tank. Can run mid 70's in a Phoenix 919 ProXP fully loaded.

You're watching the wrong video. Mine breaks 70 with a full tank and full load but I don't have poles.

How many boat brands has Earl Bentz started? I can tell you how many he has sold out.....all of them! Easy to see the pattern of his business model. Big no for me.

Wrong prop! I run the same exact prop on a mercury 150🤷 That boat propped right should run low to mid 70's. And if it don't then take it back or put a sho on it🤷
@High-techRedneckFishing2 жыл бұрын
That's the right prop. The fury prop with 24 pitch is the same as 25 pitch tempest. The 150 runs 23 pitch tempest.
@rowdybroomstick6394 Жыл бұрын
So at 00:34 second's you can see it's a 23 pitch. Not a 24 like you mentioned in your comment. If a 225 can't run a 25 pitch prop then I say theirs a problem, wether anyone wants to admit it or not. And by your comment, I'm running a 24pitch prop on my boat. Which is a 23 tempest and you say equals 24🤷 my 16 year old XR6 150 hits 6k everytime I run it with a 23 tempest.

the Caymas is a big wide boat and with a 225 not going to do mid 70s im sorry....my cx20 with a 250 is a mid 70s....i had a basscat P2 with a 200 before the cx20 and it would do 73 however rode like a wagon compared to the caymas...it all depends on what you are looking for

Not the best speed, no gear or poles , only seen 1 person when you took off, gear and tournament ready be lucky to hit 65 , I will keep my phoenix

I know more then a few guys in Southeast Tennessee that traded in their Phoenix rather quickly. Said they road like shit much like Falcons. But this is Bullet country lol
