Don't know how many times I soldered the plug on and forget the out connector, Holy buckets!! Quick tip. Get you a plug and solder four three-inch wires on with alligator clips. Makes it fast and easy to figure out the wiring. Keep up the videos, enjoy them.

Hey there bud, thanks for watching. That is a good question. I'm going to look into that. I like that. That's a good idea. I do have one of those old rangers myself. I'm going to dig into it and see if I can find an eight volt source hopefully with enough amps

@bucketsgarage I just found your video and im so hoping you can help me please please. I have a cobra sound tracker 25 wx St and the wiring on the mic separated from the plug. I found the codes but my wiring is blue, red, white, and a wire with no insulation. But on charts it doesnt show color. It just shows shield, mod, receive, and TX. But i Don t know what color is what and i went to a cb shop and they gave me a color code and it wasnt correct. Can you tell me exactly what colors go to what symbols or what color goes to what number please? I have an older cobra mic but the colors are yellow, black, red, and solid wire with no insulation.

Hey there bud, I hope I can help and I'd like to 😁 okay number 1 is (shield ground) Number 2 is white ( audio) Number 3 is red (transmit) Number 4 blue ( receive) That should be the correct wiring. At least you know which ones are the trigger points If that still don't work, don't forget join my facebook page buckets garage and send me a message. I can send you a picture of the inside of the microphone as well. Hopefully I can get you going again. And thanks for checking my page out. Definitely let me know if this works. Thanks bud. Have a good night

@@bucketsgarage awesome that helps a lot. I couldnt figure it out cause I had an old cobra mic I had found that had a yellow, white, black, and a solid wire and I didnt think it would work in that cobra cb but i tried it and it did work. Now I found a table mic I guess you call it and its called a Royce model 2-080 in the cobra cb and it didnt work so ill have to try to wire that correctly. Not sure what the colors are on the wires I havent opened or taken it apart to see yet. Im new to the cb world but have had a few for a little while so im learning. Thank you for the info.

@@bucketsgarage hey there again friend sorry to bug you again and thank for the info on the other question it helped. But now I was trying to figure out why this Royce 2-080 isnt working. So i took apart the plug and 3 of the wires werent connected. I tryed to research info to connect it to a 4 pin but couldnt find anything. Its a desk top mic and colors of the wires are red, black, white, purple, and a shield. What colors wires do I connect to pins 1 2 3 and 4? I know you said white and yellow is always audio and sold wire is shield. But the the black red and purple wires I have no clue.

@@shyskeleton1665 yeah, it's crazy how they make someone different connections, especially when you come to these oddball radios let me do some research to my stuff here yeah that is a different one It's possible you might have to take the mike apart to see where the head soldered on the wires to the switch.

Hi, l'm trying to wire my Kenwood MC-60 8pin to an Anytone Ares ii 4pin, Im new to cb radios so any assistance would be appreciated
@bucketsgarage9 ай бұрын
Good evening bud, thanks for contacting me. Yeah I'm taking a look. It is a pretty cool microphone from what I could see, white wire is for your audio course. You have your shield then you have black and green The black wire I would connect to the shield. The green wire is for your key up No, I don't know what the inside of that microphone looks like, but according to the instructions that I'm looking at, it's only a two position switch if the radio has automatic sound. In other words, if you can hear it working without the microphone plugged in you are golden, but if not you may have to change the switch inside the microphone unless it is a two position switch which would mean black would be center green would be key up and then the other one could be whatever you solder to it. Let me know how it goes. In fact, you can message me through Facebook at buckets Garage. I can send you some pictures. Hopefully this helps. Let me know. Thanks for watching , Buckets
