This stretches back to some of my earliest memories. Back when the CBC was objective and professional.

How are they no longer objective and professional? Provide explicit details and proof.

@@OTownNews Well their eras overlapped very slightly but to my mind both are the tops in Canadian television news with Lloyd Robertson a distant (but respectable) third.

@@My2EyesAreOpen I was also a fan of the sister program that aired afterwards (The Journal) which was headed up in the early '80s by Barbara Frum.

Yeah The Journal was good too. Haven't been able to find the opening for it on YT, but maybe Retrontario could track it down. :) *_What was weird about Canadians, is that in the 80s all of Canada tuned in to The National even though they wanted to be Americans. Now, Canadians DON'T want to be Americans, but what do they tune in too? Fox News & CNN_* @@SPTO

Non-Canadian syndicated reruns in the afternoon until the 6 o'clock news was pretty standard through to the late 90's. Prime time was still mandatory CanCon.
@sadee1287 Жыл бұрын
We were lucky to have had CanCon. Otherwise, Canadian content would have been lost. Why is it that Canadians can't appreciate Canadian grown and produced content? No other country spurns its own like Canada.
