Man I love cage. I love Matt, Daniel, brad, Jared; all of them. They’ve brought me such sentimental memories on their first album and will continue to for a very long time. I can vividly remember spending the night at my best friends house in 7th grade playing call of duty black ops zombies on split screen while blaring their first album singing along to it. I remember taking long trips up to Cleveland Ga with my ex while listening to Melophobia and singing along with her. Tell me I’m pretty got me through a dark time roughly a year ago when she cheated on and left me while my best friend overdosed almost simultaneously. Now their Social Cues is getting me through paramedic school when I get stressed out or discouraged. This band will always have a special place in my heart and provoke so many feelings of mixed emotions, euphoria, and nostalgia. This band is truly one of a kind and hope they stay together for a very long time. Long live Matt and CTE! 🐘🐘

Wow, what a great interview. At times I almost felt cringe because of how Tom's questions were going so deep, personal, and wouldn't just move on when it got tough. Often artists get upset at that and don't want to explain but then Matt turned around and gave us all what we were wanting to know with such openness and honesty. What a pleasure to have a peek inside Matt's head on what is an incredible album. Thanks to both.

Definitely not my favourite album from Cage. I can hear their sound in it, but it's definitely not a rock album (which isn't inherently bad, but maybe a bit disappointing to long-term Cage the Elephant fans). That said I found the second half of the album, from House of Glass onward is still pretty good. It's not exactly the type of album I wanted to hear from them, but they have changed their sound pretty drastically over time, and I don't see this as too far removed from some of the stuff they've been putting out.
@Uploader300015 жыл бұрын

Glad you love it now. That being said, think about what Matt went through personally. It's not just heartbreak, it's the confusion and psychological toll of coming to the realization that the person you thought was the love of your life, isnt. You didn’t take a drink that I saw (it was summer in Arizona) and you had this mask/fan and you were all over the place. I was Star struck, I began to really listen to this band. I went home, hit up google and iTunes (cause how hard is it now, finding Bullet Boys was hard hahaha) and began to fall in love with the music. Then the lyrics, then the videos.
