He's so very charming & fascinating. *Of course* he's immensely talented but so many actors & singers come across as either rather dull or ridiculously self absorbed. I think Alan's lovely demeanor is due to his upbringing, Scottish blood, & remarkable personality. Then again, what do I know? ;-) Regardless, I'd gladly sell a non crucial body part for the pleasure of knowing him personally!

I'm on an Alan Cummings binge too..can't get enough of this man and sadly have missed him in alot of his US based series as I don;t have netflix but I could listen to him all night.Also I love those red specs....he has a great sense of style.Just hope he comes back to UK to do some theatre sometime

I like Alan's perspective on his father. Even just when saying he doesn't blame him, there's a moment when it seems he considers the possibility of hatred, yet it's like he doesn't even want to name it. Another good point is looking back on photos and asking yourself "why did we not notice" when someone is ill etc. I had the same experience recently when I looked back at my school photos. I saw that I went from a healthily round face at 15, to a gaunt and haunted face at 16. I had experienced sexual abuse and an eating disorder during that time and I really and truly had that exact moment of "how did no one notice???"

i’ve watched this interview a couple times, and because Alan Cumming is so thoughtful and eloquent in how he expresses his feelings and past the interviewer taps into this. I’ve seen him in person and about to see him a second time it is overwhelming to experience his talent. Sometimes I think if I had only met someone like this 30 years ago ha ha
