As a Christian, I find it, especially interesting that when Rainn Wilson was going through his difficult, anxious phase, he would always wake up at 3 AM. In Christianity many believe three and is one of them more active times in the spiritual realm. Her both both good and evil. One of these reasons is because when people are in a dream state, they are more vulnerable to dark spirits, but they can also receive at a deeper level from the Father through dreams. Some Christians believe that there is a gift called being a watchmen. God often wakes those up that have the watchmen gift at 3 AM so they can start to receive in the spirit very specific things to pray for themselves, other people or different parts of the world. Even though Rainn did not wake up for that reason, nor would he have done so, some Christians believe that the enemy can often will attack and try to pervert our gifts or just torture us before we can use them for good. Him waking up anxious at 3am could be this.
