I just happened on this gem on Netflix and it sounded really dumb. After a couple of episodes I was hooked. Catherine O’Hara is an absolute comedic genius. The cast just brings that out so perfectly. Season 5 has some of the most beautifully touching moments that I have seen on TV in a long time. It also has scenes of pant-wetting hilarity (You won’t be able to watch Alexis audition for “Cabaret” just once!). Such a treasure

You can't get sweeter and more humble than this. Wow. Makes it even more shocking when we realize her colossal talent. She and Larry David are the only two actors alive whom I would bow down to if I ever met them in person.

Tom Powers you are the best interviewer I’ve heard! Thank you for actually letting your guests speak without interrupting! It makes a world of difference to a person to actually be able to “think” about what they are saying or wanting to say before being sided into a different question or comment. You are so very cordial and I love that about your style! And Catherine, what a delight!!! I wish I could know her... xo Shawna

Remarkable that she played Kate before having kids of her own. I'd argue she was one of the most memorable mothers from TV/movies in the 90s. Probably one of the first female figures I admired for their independence or position of power, and her role in that set the tone for anything else I've seen her in. Love her!

Catherine is so gracious... she almost corrected him at the start when he thought 'enchilladas' was French, as opposed to Spanish. You can see her laugh and go "It's Sp--" She stopped herself to avoid shaming him. To fair, I don't live in a country where Spanish is commonly spoken, and I knew that!

Love,love,love Catherine. Well the whole Schitts creek family
@pauldelgadillo18276 жыл бұрын
I believe that the ultimate pairing of Catherine O'Hara and Eugene Levy was in the Christopher Guest movie, "A Mighty Wind" in which Eugene Levy's character Mitchel Cohen, due to his overuse of drugs, never regains the romantic spark he had with his singing duo mate Mickey Crabbe, played by O'Hara when her character chooses to walk away from the relationship and any future pairing with Mitch in the future. It's the dark humor of the loss and the consequences that make that portrayal so powerful. The audience keeps rooting for them but they never quite make it and Mickey simply doesn't want to be left with the drugged out baggage that Mitch has become. Their pairing in Schitt's Creek is also phenomenal and I love how Dan Levy and writing staff, are able to bring out the different depths in each and every character on the show. Schitt's Creek is simply the best comedy series on television period.

I disagree completely. He's actually smart and thoughtful about the whole business of professional performing, he manages to get her to share about her family life without being rudely invasive, he lets her speak at length without feeling the need to interrupt, and it's clear that he puts her totally at ease from the get-go. Probably the best solo interview of Catherine O'Hara I've seen.
