This has gone from interesting and relevant to simply fascinating. Thank you. Many questions, lots more reading to do. :)

Is there a flexible artificial lens that can replace a hardened lens. Such a lens would need to react to the focusing muscles, and this may not require any physical attachment between the lens and the muscles, e.g., the more tense the focusing muscles, the more suction on the perimeter of the lens and consequent lens flattening (focusing).

Juvene and JelliSee fully accommodative IOL. Not sure how long until they are available for use in the USA. However, I’m pissed off that the lens softening drop development was discontinued - apparently the penetration of the drops wasn’t as good as anticipated. My counter to that is, why can’t they offer an injection of the active ingredient into the capsular bag and bypass the eye anatomy? If they did that and it works I’d get the injection. Pupil construction is ok but sucks at night…. Really bad, never plan to drive!
