Double Click: Twin Photographers in the Golden Age of Magazines. Kino portrays the McLaughlin sisters, the identical twin photographers who blazed new trails for women in the 1930s and 40s. While celebrated in their time as stars in their fields, the McLaughlin twins have largely been forgotten until now. Their story, as told by Kino, shines a fresh light on this extraordinary moment in our history, a moment of vast and creative change in magazines, photography, and gender roles. Moderated by the culture writer and curator Laura Raicovich, the conversation promises to bring rich perspective to our understanding of New York City's cultural scene during the war, and the brief window of opportunity for creative women exemplified and led by the McLaughlin twins. With Double Click their two bylines - Frances McLaughlin-Gill and Kathryn Abbe - are back from obscurity.
