Hormones are generally used for reproduction and sexual modifications rather then growth in the horticulture and lumber industries, the trees produce more then enough of the growth hormone on their own.. The leading growing point of a tree or plant usually produces growth hormone causing that point to grow rapidly upwards, that's why if you bend a tree over, the part that's bent will become the new growth point.
