I volunteered at a foster care facility and then the Lord took me to a homeless shelter. At the shelter I babysat the kids for their parents when they were in class or at chapel and taught them bible lessons on Sunday morning. Neither of these things required money. You have to read the entire context of the verse. First finish the verse. The last sentence says : For I will restore their fortunes and have compassion on them. Basically he is saying if it were possible for the laws of nature to stop day and night, then it would be possible for him to abandon his people. But since that won’t happen (not now anyways) that means, he will not abandon his people. Instead he will restore them and have compassion on them.
