I just read a post about an American missionary who was denied help to be rescued. Mitch, I immediately thought of you. Obviously, I don't know your schedule, but I know you run an orphanage. I was going to do a google search. Instead, I looked through YT and within seconds, I found this video. Thank you, CBN for being on top of the story. Thank God for Cory Mills. I am glad that you and your volunteers are home. Your 14 years of visiting Haiti prepared you for this horrible time. Knowing you had to evacuate, you did your best to prepare the orphanage for the coming days. I hope you can get some rest now. Thank God for technology; it gives you contact with the Haitian children. I sense, in time, you will write a book about this experience. I am praying for you, your wife, and the children. Prayers for other Americans to be rescued.

As a missionary to HAITI I can relate to what he is saying. I left Haiti two years ago when Americans were warned then the country was unsafe and Americans needed to leave. In 2023 they were again warned not to travel to Haiti one of the most dangerous countries in the world. It's sad it came to this and pray those still there get home safely Evangelist Roger Mansour

@le_th_9 ай бұрын
The government can't evacuate a PRIVATE charitable organization that is there on their own free will. Their *first duty* is to safely evacuate all the government employees who are working there at the embassy. Tourists and other private organizations are there by choice not by job requirement for employment. I mean, DUH. ...and this is true for any US government. This is why journalists are held as hostages sometimes for years because they don't work for the US government and went their by CHOICE or by the job assignement of their PRIVATE (not US government) job choice. Let me guess, you have no college education so you don't know how your own government works? The US government's first priority is to safely evacuate the people they placed their to do US government work. You know, the US government employees. Why do you think journalists can be held hostage for so long abroad??? They are *not* US government employees, they work for PRIVATE media organizations. Tourists and NGO (read: NON-governmental agencies) are meant to find...and pay...their own way out, just like they got there. The US government didn't pay for them to go there. How is this shocking to you? If the US government PAID tax dollars to evacuate everyone, you'd be furious at the massive loss of US soldier life that would cause PLUS the hundreds of millions in defense spending. smh Go to college. You need to learn how your own government works, and what a .government job is versus a private job, and what the word "tourist" means and NGO.

Sadly, they are still there in the middle of the chaos while the “privileged” American gets rescued. 😢 As an American missionary currently living in Haiti, it angers and saddens me how Americans act as if they actually care about the Haitian people then when something like this happens they are on the first flight out. Like you said, what about the kids?? If he has been coming to Haiti for 14 years and was well aware of the Level 4, DO NOT TRAVEL, why bring a team in with you? So irresponsible! And if he loves the kids so much, why not hunker down with them and ride it out to show them just how much you do love them! My heart breaks for the children in Haiti that are so often without parents and then this is the type of “love” they feel from so called missionaries.

There were tires burning in the streets. They needed to get to the airport which was actually still opened. From their hotel they were able to arrange a taxi to take them. They had to pay a thousand dollars, even so, the driver had good relations with the gangs. They were told to lie on the floor in the back of the taxi and then covered with blankets and a pile of clothes. Swerving through the burning tires and men with AK-47's, being stopped several times, they somehow miraculously made it.
