@ No. The so-called "Catastrophe" (Nakba) was perpetrated by neighboring Arab states that told ARABS in what had been BRITISH MANDATE of Palestine -- NOT post-mandate territory allocated to a NEW entity of "Palestine"-- to leave so that they (the Arab states) could eradicate the newly established Israel and then those temporarily displaced ARABS from the old British MANDATE of Palestine could take all the land. Didn't happen. And ever since then, the so-called Palestinian refugees have preferred to stay welfare recipients of the world instead of accepting multiple offers to create their own state. Trouble is, they and the governments they either vote in, as in Gaza, or accept, as in the Palestinian Authority-run areas of the West Bank under the Oslo Accords, don't want two states. They want one state -- theirs. That is not the option of peace and coexistence. Gaza could have been a shining example of a Palestinian state building for the future. Instead it has become the symbol of self-destruction.
