The Inspirations are still singing all these years later. To God be the Glory.

Thanks for finding this and wow, about 25 full time groups? The growth of the industry is amazing and the Inspirations lead the way, twenty five years seemed like an optimistic outlook in 1970 but 54 years later the Inspirations swept the Gospel music awards still singing many of the same songs thanks again for sharing

Generally speaking for myself, 54 years later, it’s STILL the only music that counts. I have been waiting to see this footage for soooooo long and I appreciate this more than anything!!!! Thank you so much!!!!!

I have seen a snippet of this, but not the whole thing. Thank you for the sharing, Neal Cook. My first knowing of The Inspirations came a bit later than this. I caught, by accident, the Gospel Singing Jubilee, one Sunday morning. When I saw and heard The Inspirations, for the first time, my jaw dropped, and I was hooked. They were very different from any quartet I had heard, before. The lineup, at that time was Archie, Troy, on lead, Eddie, and Mike Holcomb singing bass, Martin on the piano, of course, and I believe Roger Fortner was playing lead guitar and Jack was playing that Amp-peg bass, I believe it was. I believe they were singing "When I Wake Up to Sleep No More", and for their second set, it was "More to go to Heaven For". To me, they were the best men's quartet, period. Their sound and blend were unique. Their demeanor on stage was more acceptable to me than any other. They had fun, but there was a reverence about them, and they weren't hawking their records. I could be wrong, but I don't seem to remember anything except a very few mentions of their sales booth being there and open. Class bunch of men, which I appreciate, until this day.

This was great! Thanks! I enjoyed it tremendously! I did not know it existed! When I was growing up this was and still is my Mom's favorite group! My Grandma loved them also! I still listen to them today! A few years ago my parents gave me all those old Inspirations records they played when I was just a boy! My Grandpa had many years ago gave me several of my Grandma's old Inspirations records also! The current group today still has that same sound that you will hear on those same old recordings! Highly recommend them!

I've had this clip for several years. (I actually had a copy of the entire broadcast. The story that Roger Mudd begins to tell at the end of the broadcast concludes with the guy shooting up the vending machine. Pretty funny.) A few years ago I gave a copy of the clip to the guys shown in the video who were still living (Archie, Eddie, Marlin, and Ronnie). Ronnie was really excited to see it again. Last year I gave a copy to Luke. I finally decided to post it, since I've heard that Troy Burns plans to play it at this year's "Singing in the Smokies." Always nice to get one up on Troy. LOL.

Of course, I couldn't change the quality of the original video. However, I did "upscale" it to 8K for this posting, although it appears that KZbin has capped it at 4K.
