Love these amazing episodes of CBSRMT and this is another great one. Thanks ChillySunshine for posting! Joe B.: he's quite the extraterrestrial. Ties-in with the worldwide ancient giants legends and UFOs/extraterrestrials. Especially given the two NY Times articles published earlier this year proving that the US government has been, via the military and our top scientists, recovering crashed UFOs and studying the advanced alien technology for many years. If you haven't read these epoch-making NY Times investigative articles, do so now for they present irrefutable proof (as if, along with all the news stories about sightings crashes and recoveries I recall all the way back to the 70's but have since read reports from the earliest days of humankind but especially since WW2, testimony from top government officials & scientists including our own astronauts and officials like Col. Cursoe & countless others plus the evidence provided by other less-secretive governments like Belgium the 1952 multi-UFO buzzing of the White House, which made international headlines including photos and videos all easily found online including a video of Eisenhower responding to reporters clamoring for answers about the White House UFO encounter with the brief statement, "Yes, we have UFOs", and that's all that was said by the President). The US Navy followed-up the NY Times articles by admitting that the three F-18 Hornet fighter jet weapons system imaging videos leaked in 2019 by a Pentagon insider of close-up encounters with UFOs were the real deal, encouraged their own and all pilots to report future encounters, and allowed their top people to freely discuss their personal UFO encounters leading to the several interviews on radio programs and in podcasts, all available online, with F-18 weapons operation specialist Lt. Commander Chad Underwood and his pilot, Commander David Fravor, both of whom are experienced, well-educated combat veterans and experts in aviation, stating clearly that these UFOs are clearly of extraterrestrial origin and that this fact has profound ramifications for humankind. Their various interviews can easily be found online and last I heard in a radio interview, Lt. Commander Underwood said he and Fravor are producing a series of podcasts exploring their several UFO encounters, the undeniable existence of extraterrestrial life and what it means for the world in a larger sense. In any event, this episode touches on two potentially interconnected phenomenon, giants and extraterrestrial life/UFOs, in a wonderfully entertaining way. So ahead of its time and again, indicative to me that the legends of red-haired giants with cranial peculiarities and their possible relation to beings not of this Earth were known even when I was a child, long before the modern Internet. For a quick one-shot overview on the subject of red-haired giants w/peculiar craniums said in legends from around the world to be of unearthly descent, I recommend the doc A Race of Giants, available for free on KZbin but install KZbin AdBlocker first in case they decided to riddle it with ads.

Regarding this epi, it is fascinating, the undeniable evidence for the past existence of red-haired giants with cranial peculiarities (& dental ones), as recorded in the legends of many separate cultures from around the world, many of which state a non-terrestrial heritage, and well-documented via both old and current articles and documentaries. Even the Old Testament mentions the giant children of the Watcher angels & human women, example: Goliath. The fact that they wrote an episode about this and potential non-human DNA mixing with human DNA means that knowledge of the legendary red-haired giants was a "thing" long before the Internet, though I read only a few articles plus Genesis until the advent of the modern Internet. Now anyone can look up the myriad of fascinating news articles about the Smithsonian recovering the remains of giants found at various sites in the USA along with ancient Egyptian artifacts, and spiriting them away, never to be heard about again, along with scores or hundreds of articles, podcasts and documentaries like A Race of Giants (on KZbin), all revealing hard proof including skeletal remains and hair, and all tying together the worldwide archetypal legends of ancient red-haired giants descended from beings from the sky be they called angels, gods, or whatever. It's fascinating stuff indeed!

Why is there an audio glitch right at the most important moment of the story when Jobo remembers? That really sucks!! It can’t have been there when the episode originally aired? Anybody here have answers?

It's been awhile since you asked this question, but here's an answer. In 1974 through 1982 (CBSRMT was in Production) these shows were taped. Similar to the tape used in cassette tapes. Over time the tape degrades, gets magnetized etc.... Many of the original episodes had to be rediscovered through the general public because originals were ruined or lost. Thankfully, many fans of the show made their own self recordings from the radio as the show was being aired; that is why in some episodes you will get local news, weather report, commercials, and the call letters of the radio station. Luckily, every episode has been found and can be heard; some with glitches, fuzzy crackling etc..

Re: the synopsis, "mildly cognitively impaired" might be more appropriate. "Retarded" as a descriptor went extinct some time ago. No offense intended, just showing off my psych BA lol. But as I posted earlier, an amazing episode for tying in the worldwide ancient giants legends with extraterrestrial life years b4 it all became widely available on the 'net! From the most ancient legends to US newspaper accounts from the 19th and 20th centuries to the most current research and archeological findings, the red-haired giants with irregularly-shaped craniums is a real phenomenon, not just a legend shared by so many earlier societies from around the world. Hello. I happen to feel that the tyranny against words and speech one doesn’t like...is about a million times more destructive of society. I had an uncle who was severely mentally-retarded. We all loved him. And we all knew very well what that word actually means. He literally was like a four year old kid all his life and could not grow any further in his mental development. That is the MEANING of the word “retarded” or “retardation.” It isn’t derogatory unless people use the word in that way...just as so many other words can be used immaturely. One can be socially-retarded, morally-retarded, emotionally-retarded, spiritually-retarded etc. One definition of social responsibility is the adult privilege of being totally offended...without needing to silence, cancel, banish, punish, imprison or behead somebody for speaking in ways we find distasteful and repugnant and childish. Big Brother 1984 is vastly more injurious.
