As an aspiring writer myself, I really appreciate this story. My characters often feel real to me too. A few seem to take a life of their own, fleshing out, developing nuance and becoming much different than what they were conceived.

Oh that's a good recommendation, I've listened to all the CBS Radio Mystery Theater stories, I think. There's another KZbin channel called "The Late Late Horror Radio Show." It features all night (or anytime) marathon episodes of the old radio shows. The Sealed Book, The CBS Radio Mystery Theater, Vincent Price's The Price of Fear, Sherlock Holmes w/Basil Rathbone and Nigel Bruce, Peter Lorre Spooky Tales, The Whistler, The Shadow, and more.

Melanie, I love listening to CBS radio mystery theater. It's better than watching television. My favorite episodes are hickory dickory doom and the real printers devil. Those are the scariest episodes of radio mystery theater. Thank you so much for your reply. From Ms. Harper Stacey.

@@harperstacey9604 Well I'll just have to listen to both shows, then. Hickory Dickory Doom and The Real Printer's Devil! Thank you, so much.

The writer for the Star Trek episode "City on the Edge of Forever", regarded by many as the greatest Star Trek episode ever, was very upset about a change made to the story at the end of the episode. The change was as Edith is about to be hit by a car, Spock stops Kirk from saving her. The writer wanted Kirk to just stand there and watch her die. The author was very bitter about the change for the rest of his days and never accepted the liberty the studio took with the story. I know this isn't the same thing as this show, but it makes me think of it.
