Coffee Break Sessions is the new format that I will be posting on this channel. Compare to the previous hour-long episodes; the new format will be around 30 minutes, but I will try my best to post it more often -like once in 2 weeks. This episode is about the groovy and soulful Turkish Female Singers from the '70s.

Even though most of our modern songs and albums suck, Turkish music was awesome in 1960s and 1970s. The rock pieces that have been made are still being listened by a lot of people. There's a channel called 'Anatolian Rock Revival Project' you might wanna check them out, they have awesome pieces of old Turkish rock

I don't know if you've ever considered this but you ought to know that you are doing the world a wonderful service. It's so much more than providing these songs to listen to on your equipment. From a historical standpoint, you work to preserve and archive music which otherwise would be lost to time. Some of these songs have no uploads on KZbin, let alone other video sharing platforms. Others, very few. What you do helps our collective future learn about the past and that's a very virtuous deed so thank you.

@@RobertoAlvarezGalloso That's so cool. I can picture that, especially since my ex was Venezuelan and very into diverse genres of music (and in a few bands.) We visited his family in Caracas in 2013 and, while the city was rough, I enjoyed it. From talking to his family, looking at their old photos, and exploring the city with them, I could vividly picture the 1970s and 80s there. I also wish that we'd gone to Valencia, where his cousin lived. We did visit a few other towns, though. I'm so glad I got to experience Venezuela with locals.

how come so many Turkish people migrated to Germany back then?? It's reflected a lot of in Fatih Akin's films and it's very interesting.

@@artivism4068 Germans needed manpower for their factories aftermath of the post-WWII rebuilding and we happened to have lots of villages without work apart from agriculture. Initially they were supposed to go there, learn the discipline of the job and the way factories worked then return to homeland with the goal of establishing a more capable industry. But they stayed.

Ahmet Cosar Germany and Turkey made an agreement, so that turkish citizens could easily apply for work, especially in factories and construction companies. Initially germans wanted them to only stay till the „work is done“, but in the meantime, people, naturally, took their families with them, their children went to school in germany and grew up there, so they became a part of germany. Germans wanted turkish (and greek and italian people also) people to work and rebuilt germany but they didn‘t wanted them to be a part of the society. They treated (and are treating) these minorities very racist, the second and third generations are still struggling with the racism there.
