Detroit pastor Lorenzo Sewell delivers prayer at President Trump's inauguration

I didn’t watch the inauguration, but because everyone lauded this man for this prayer I had to see what all the excitement was about only to realize that America was only being entertained. As I was watching Matthew 6:7 came to mind and it reads as follows: But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think they shall be heard for their much speaking. This prayer was a repetition of things that have been said in the speeches of great leaders who have fought diligently and lost their lives for the cause of others. It was orated in a manner that contradicts the instructions that Christ gave the disciples on humbly praying to the Father. I don’t know this Pastor, neither do I know what his relationship with Christ is like so I can’t speak on it, but I pray that the Lord will open the door for someone who would actually represent Him publicly by the spirit to attend and partake in events like this. Someone who would pray, not seeking for applause, reputation nor accolades afterwards, but would pray in a manner to actually break yokes that are binding all American. Otherwise, I can go watch a good movie to be entertained. Entertainment is what has gotten us where we are and it’s going to take the spirit led men and women of God to get us out.

If you replay it, notice the whole program was under our Lord. Most of the songs were patriotic had the verses that referenced God and the other instrumental songs were Christian hymns!
