The gritty old stadium vibes with soul and history makes every European football fan feel right at home.

The Garden was a shrine. It was real gritty and for the City people. You could take the subway or train and go to games. Hockey is a hometown sport and the Bruins played here. Boston City neighborhoods produced many Olympic/NHL Hockey players.

i liked the architecture of the Garden facade--all those huge blue windows and the decorate cornice line. (i don't miss the garden itself, however.)

You don't miss the garden?? Damn, I thought everyone missed the garden. The current corporate arena with the newly minted black seats has no character

The original garden was an utter dump lol

Walked down Friend Street for the first time in 20 years. I knew I remembered elevated train tracks around the Garden. A great neighborhood now/still. I hope to return again much sooner.

I remember ( Kinda 🍺) coming out of the Boston Gahden in the 70s after Bruins Matinee Games onto Causeway Street and it was dark under the El but when you went across Causeway Street heading to the Fours it was Sunny and cold. You can see this at 0:52The squeaking of the Green Line Wheels brought me back. This is after 6-7 Beers at the game. Always looked forward to those Matinee Games.

Yep. Did it many times as well. McDonald's and Burger King were right there and Half Time Pizza is still there.

@@afmartin2734 I can attest to the Half-Time Pizza. Just visited on Sunday 02-20-2022!

Should have never torn it down, it's a disgrace that they did that, build a new arena if you want but why destroy the original? The architecture, the history, all of combined was a living breathing part of Boston. Now we are left with the monstrosity that is "The Hub on Causeway Street" development which looks like any other cookie cutter copy of one of those new shopping plaza's anchored with a Whole Foods/Wegmans and Kings Bowling Lanes with overpriced condo's as a focal point.

Would give my left arm to be on the Orange line coming down Causeway Street heading to the Gahden in the early 70s going to a Boston Braves Hockey game. 🙏

You forgot the team that originally played and started that bldg….. the Boston Bruins owned that place physically and professionally. It was originally made for Hockey and boxing. That place was made for the Bruins. No better place to see a hockey game. The Bruins were Boston. Hard working tough and beer drinking. It figures the media would show the complete opposite. Hey… thanks #4.
