Total Solar Eclipse | Full coverage

The sky will darken for millions in the U.S. on Monday as the 2024 total solar eclipse arrives and works its way across a swath of the country.
A solar eclipse happens when the moon passes between the Earth and the sun, casting a shadow that blocks out the light from the sun. The sun will appear to vanish behind the moon for minutes at a time as the eclipse travels along its "path of totality," starting on Mexico's Pacific Coast and moving northeast through more than a dozen states, from Texas to Maine, and into eastern Canada.
More than 31 million people live along the path of totality, and many more are flying or driving to witness the April 8 spectacle in person. Outside the path of totality, the rest of the continental U.S. will get to see a partial eclipse (if skies are clear) as the moon blocks a portion of the sun. It will be decades before the next total solar eclipse appears in the U.S.

I experienced the one in 2017 and even though it was just partial it felt weird that mid day everything went dark. On my case it wasn’t as dark as the night but it has this grey hue and everything seemed so blurry. Like your eyes were picking up a different light frequency that they were used to. More like a really soft UV light.

I was just there! I'm currently still trying to leave the parking lot lol. But If she turned the camera a bit to the left I was there with my Dad, Sister, And I. We were looking at her talking!

i like how its 2024 and not a single tv channel or live stream managed to capture the moment of total eclipse. all the reporters are like OMG amazing look at it! while the screen is just black. fire your camera men or something. like wtf? you had one job. shaking my head

Thanks for posting this! I'm in the Tinley Park area, at noon I noticed it got "gloomy" outside while working in a room with a small window but didn't know the eclipse was occurring around that time. I figured it was a storm cloud 😅 It's very sunny and warm outside now at 5pm.

You didn't show any coverage for Chicago, I am thinking it never happened. At least I saw something in 2017. So fake! You just kept talking about around the country when it's supposed to be about Chicago- What gives? I am glad I didn't go out and waste my time.
