Best option is:- Study till Class 8 in ICSE (for language and logical reasoning development) Class 9-12 in CBSE (for entrance exams and scoring marks)

ICSE is more complicated than CBSE. If you can handle more study pressures, there is no harm in choosing ICSE. In another case if you are tending to appear Indian Competitive exam, I think yk CBSE follows the syllabus for it. ICSE only focuses on eng and science meanwhile CBSE focuses of eng, science and maths...I hope this helps

Till class 10 cbse children do not gain the basic knowledge. That is still ok but please dont compare a board which is irradicating illiteracy to a board which is actually educating students.
